Public liability insurance
All events must have public liability insurance. You may need to show proof of this insurance.
Contact your insurance company to make sure you have the right cover for your event.
Licences
When planning your event, you must consider the 4 licensing objectives under the Licensing Act 2003:
- prevention of crime and disorder
- public safety
- prevention of public nuisance
- protection of children from harm
You need to apply for a licence if your event will:
- sell or supply alcohol
- have regulated entertainment, such as music, dancing or film screenings
- provide late-night refreshments
