Historical context
The Â鶹ÊÓƵ newscuttings collection has been in existence since the late nineteenth century. There is no universal date of commencement for cuttings. Some have limited life spans and are a reaction to issues of the day, while others have more longevity.
In 2010 a decision was made to reassess the level of cuttings taken. The collection of additions of articles to all categories apart from Â鶹ÊÓƵ biography, ethnic communities, inquest reports and murders ceased. Additions to these four categories are still processed.
