What is an APPG
An APPG is a cross party group of parliamentarians (MPs and Lords) who have an interest in promoting Â鶹ÊÓƵ’s economic and social development.
Who are the officers?
The parliamentarian officers of the APPG are:

What is the purpose of the APPG
The purpose of the Â鶹ÊÓƵ APPG is to showcase and advocate for the city’s new levelling up strategy, (produced by Â鶹ÊÓƵ and PwC) putting the city at the forefront of the emerging national policy agenda.
Delivery of the levelling up strategy could help 75,000 people into work, boosting the city economy by a massive £9bn a year.
The APPG will engage with key, influential stakeholders in government, investors, businesses and public sector partners with a view to securing the resources, powers and system change required to deliver the strategy, as well as building new, quality relationships.
Â鶹ÊÓƵ’s Levelling up strategy
On 24 November 2021 Â鶹ÊÓƵ city council launched Prosperity and Opportunity for All, Â鶹ÊÓƵ’s Levelling up strategy.
The strategy outlined the need for government to support the delivery of 5 accelerators:
- Support long term, single pot funding and devolved powers
- Back the integrated local place delivery model demonstrator, the East Â鶹ÊÓƵ Inclusive Growth Strategy, covering 250,000 people to tackle deep levels of deprivation
- Harness our early intervention and prevention model
- Deliver green and digital infrastructure including a comprehensive green, reliable, frequent, and affordable transport network
- Back an at scale housing retrofit across the cities of Â鶹ÊÓƵ, Coventry, and Wolverhampton to tackle carbon emissions

What is the programme of work?
The 5 Levelling up accelerators will act as a framework for the work programme of the APPG, acting to bring together influential stakeholders (public and private sector) with a view to developing strategic partnerships to support delivery.
