Apply online and late applications

Applications open on 1 October 2024 for Infant to Junior applications for entry in September 2025.

The closing date is 15 January 2025 at 11:59pm.

It is really important that you apply on time. If you apply late, you are less likely to get offered a place at any of your preferred schools.

Late applications can be made from 9:00am on 16 January 2025.

Applications received after 15 January 2025 will be classed as late applications and will not be processed until after the offer of places on 16 April 2025.

Remember to list three different junior schools, including the junior school linked to your child's current infant school, if your child attends a linked school.

Important: Make you include details of any siblings attending your preferred school(s) in the field (box) provided for sibling details. Sibling details included in the incorrect field, such as in reasons for preference, will not be counted and may prevent you from gaining a place at your preferred school.

If you fill in the online application incorrectly, you are liable for not completing the form correctly, not the School Admissions and Fair Access Service.

Applications open on 1 October 2024.

Parent’s guidance to submit online application, change of preferences and password resets

Make sure you have read the admission arrangements fully for the schools you are interested in and know how likely it is that your child will be offered a place there. It is important that you include at least one realistic preference for a school that your child would have met the criteria for in previous years.

If you have included preferences for any schools that require you to complete a supplementary information form or includes social and medical needs as a criterion and require you to send evidence, you must ensure that you send the supplementary information form and/or any required documents directly to the school in question. Failure to do so may mean that your child’s application is assessed by the school under a lower criterion and may mean they are not offered a place.

Submit your online application form

You will receive email confirmation that you have submitted your application form. Check this to make sure everything is correct.

If you amend your preferences, you must ensure you re-submit your application form, otherwise your application will not be processed.

We will take your final submission as the application to process.

Do not use this form if your child has an Education Health Care Plan (EHCP). Information about the secondary transfer process for children with special educational needs is available here:
